WiFi photo frames show pictures, but a wall display with VistaBoard shows photos plus calendar, weather, energy data and more.
WiFi photo frames like Nixplay, Aura, Frameo or Meegropad are popular. They show family photos, can be filled via an app and look elegant. But they do exactly one thing: display pictures. If you want more, you need a different solution.
The problem with many WiFi frames is cloud dependency. Photos are transferred through the manufacturer's servers, you need an account, and if the provider shuts down the service, the frame becomes useless. Some models even require a subscription for cloud storage.

Image quality depends on the monitor. A 24-inch IPS monitor with Full HD offers better resolution and a larger viewing area than most 10-inch WiFi photo frames. Vacation photos and family pictures look much better on a larger display.
A common objection: WiFi photo frames look nicer. That is true for some models, but a monitor in a slim wooden frame or a white IKEA picture ledge also looks elegant. Pinterest and smart home forums have many examples of stylishly framed wall displays.
If you only want photos and nothing else, a classic WiFi photo frame works fine. But as soon as you wonder whether the display could also show appointments, or weather, or solar data — then VistaBoard is the far more flexible solution.
