If you use Shelly devices, PV and smart home tech, you quickly lose overview. A wall display makes energy data and daily life visible.
Shelly devices are among the most popular smart home components in the German-speaking world. Smart plugs measure consumption, relays switch lights, Shelly Pro devices control blinds and heating. But anyone with many Shelly devices eventually switches between three different apps to keep track.
This is a typical smart home problem. The Shelly app shows consumption data. The Fronius app shows PV data. Google Calendar shows appointments. Tibber shows electricity prices. Each piece of information lives in its own app, and nobody regularly checks all of them at the same time.

Another advantage: family members see the energy situation without opening an app. When the display shows the battery is full and power is being fed into the grid, even children and partners understand that now is a good time to do laundry.
In the future, direct Shelly integrations in smart home dashboards are a logical step. But even now, a wall display with PV data and electricity prices helps manage household energy more consciously — and that is the real value for Shelly users.
Technically, VistaBoard runs on a Raspberry Pi or Linux mini PC. Anyone who already has a Shelly-for-everything household usually also has a Raspberry Pi or similar hardware. Installation takes 15 minutes and the display runs automatically afterwards.
